Były minister sprawiedliwości Zbigniew Ziobro, tłumacząc przyjęcie przez swoją fundację 450 tys. zł od Przemysława Krala, szefa giełdy kryptowalut Zondacrypto, przekonywał, że o kryptowalutach wiedział niewiele. „Gazeta Wyborcza” dotarła jednak do pisma Ziobry do ówczesnego premiera Mateusza Morawieckiego z 2018 r., które wskazuje, że polityk znał zagrożenia związane z rynkiem kryptowalut.
