בית משפט השלום בחיפה שיחרר היום (שני) את שני התיירים הגרמנים שנעצרו שלשום בשעת ערב בסביבת כלא דמון שבכרמל. השניים נחשדו באיסוף סודות במטרה לפגוע במדינה ומסירת ידיעה לאוייב, עבירות ריגול מהחמורות בספר החוקים. אנשי שב"ס שהבחינו בהם עיכבו אותם והסגירו אותם לשוטרי תחנת נשר. לשב"כ היה ברור מיד כי אין מדובר בפרשיית ריגול והוא הותיר את החקירה למשטרה.
