האיסור על שימוש במערכת האלקטור בתוך הקלפיות לא עצר את המפלגות מלנסות ולעקוב אחר הגעת תומכיהן להצביע. ביום הבחירות מצאו במפלגות דרכים חלופיות להזנת המידע למערכות הממוחשבות, במטרה לדעת מי כבר הצביע ומי עדיין לא הגיע לקלפי. השנה נקבע כי אין לעשות שימוש באפליקציות לניהול מצביעים בתוך הקלפיות. ההגבלה נועדה למנוע איסוף מידע על מצביעים באמצעות מערכות מפלגתיות מתוך הקלפי, ולהבטיח את פרטיותם ואת תקינות הליך ההצבעה.
