"ניצחנו את בן גביר", הכריזו אמש (שלישי) תושבי רהט עם פרסום מדגמי הבחירות לכנסת ה-26. לאחר יום של התגייסות נרחבת להבאת מצביעים לקלפיות, חגגו בעיר את שיעור ההצבעה הגבוה ואת התחזקות המפלגות הערביות במדגמים. עבור רבים מהתושבים, ההשתתפות בבחירות הייתה גם הזדמנות להביע מחאה נגד השר לביטחון לאומי איתמר בן גביר ומדיניותו כלפי החברה הבדואית בנגב.
