שעות ספורות לפני פתיחת הקלפיות, נעצרו פעילי רע"מ עם מעטפות כסף שיועדו לכאורה לשוחד בחירות. בפרשה אחרת, שהתפוצצה אחר כך, יו"ר ועדת הבחירות הנחה את שב"כ לחקור חשד להשפעה פסולה על הבחירות מצד דוחא ואנקרה. בליכוד קשרו בין הפרשות שאין ביניהן אף חיבור, כינו אותן "רע"מ-גייט" והאשימו ב"גניבת בחירות", אך החקירות לא מעלות חשד לעבירות שיובילו לביטול התוצאות
