הצנזור הראשי תא"ל אשר קולה שוחח עם סגן השר מהליכוד וביקש ממנו להסיר את הציוץ, שבו נחשף לכאורה קשר משפחתי בין מגיש בטלוויזיה לאיש חיל האוויר. כהן סירב ונימק: "הפרטים כבר פורסמו קודם לכן". עורך דינו הגיב: "הוא לא חשף את זהותו, אלא הביע דעה על מונולוג משפיל של העיתונאי"
