אביחי שלי, אדם עם עיוורון וכבד שמיעה, פנה למבקר המדינה בטענה לסחבת במשרד הרווחה שפגעה בפרנסתו ובעצמאותו. לדבריו, צג הברייל החיוני לעבודתו התקלקל כשנתיים וחצי לאחר רכישתו, אך הוא המתין יותר משלושה חודשים לאישור חריג לסבסוד החלפתו. בשיחה עם וואלה סיפר שלי כי הוא מכיר לפחות עשרות מקרים של אנשים עם עיוורון שנתקלו בקשיים דומים לשלו.
