Het is deze week tien jaar geleden dat tientallen organisaties afspraken om de duisternis in het Waddengebied beter te beschermen. In die tijd zijn er een hoop stappen gezet, vinden deskundigen, maar er valt ook nog veel winst te behalen. In oktober 2016 ondertekenden 43 partijen, variërend van de Rijksoverheid en Staatsbosbeheer tot allerlei natuurorganisaties, een intentieverklaring met de naam Dark Sky Werelderfgoed Waddengebied.
