Con el objetivo de fortalecer a la Liga de Expansión y a todos sus equipos, la Federación Mexicana de Futbol (FMF) creó el Fondo de Solidaridad. Esta acción, forma parte de la intención que tiene la FMF de impulsar el desarrollo de la pirámide del futbol mexicano, que tiene como base el Sector Amateur y como punta a la Liga MX .
