L’infatigable militante s’était notamment illustrée dans les années 1960 et 1970 en Californie en organisant la lutte des ouvriers agricoles latinos. Elle a également été l’une des figures américaines de la lutte féministe. Elle est morte le 28 octobre, à 96 ans.
