Bulgarije krijgt voor het eerst een gekozen vrouwelijke president. De pro-Russische Iliana Jotova heeft volgens de exitpolls 56 tot 58 procent van de stemmen behaald. Haar tegenstander, de pro-Europese Andrej Gjoerov, die 38 tot 40 procent krijgt, heeft haar gefeliciteerd met de overwinning. De officiële uitslag wordt morgen verwacht, als alle stemmen zijn geteld.
