BMW chce zmniejszyć zatrudnienie o około 8 tys. osób i zamiast masowych zwolnień stawia przede wszystkim na dobrowolne odejścia. Warunki okazały się wyjątkowo atrakcyjne - w pojedynczych przypadkach odprawy mają przekraczać 650 tys. euro (2,86 mln zł), a chętnych było tak wielu, że program zamknięto przed terminem.
