עבדול אל-סייד, דמוקרט שרץ לסנאט במישיגן, מאשים שישראל מנצלת את ארה"ב, וכעת "הטורקים הצעירים" הפיצו למענו פרסומת שבה מוצג זוג אמריקנים שמוותר על מוצרי יסוד כדי "לשמור את הכסף להרג פלסטינים". ארגונים יהודיים מאשימים את הקמפיין באנטישמיות, אל-סייד מתנער אך לא מגנה - וטראמפ ממשיך לתקוף: "הוא ג'יהאדיסט, יהיה הסנאטור היחיד שיצטרך לעבור גלאי מתכות". בעצרת שבה דיבר עורר גם הרמת גבות כשהחמיא לישבנה של ניקי מינאז': "קשה לפספס אותו"
